My day today

Today was fun. When I woke up this morning I got up and did my cleaning. After I did some cleaning I did my homework straight away but it took a while because my sister and I didn't know what to write about for our our blog. My mum suggested that we wait till almost the end of the day, then do our writing and write about our day. 

We questioned mum and said "What about for our blog?", and she said blog about our day. "But that's for writing". 

"Write it!" she said again. 

We blogged the same thing and did one of our school tasks from our school learning packs. When we finished we had breakfast,. My siblings and I had leftover fish and chips. I also had bread with peanut butter and jam with a cup of tea. 

So for the rest of the day I have been doing chores, watching TV, playing outside and also cooking. 

Today I had a fun day. I wish I got to go and see my cousins today but I couldn’t but I hope we get to see them tomorrow.

Maths

For maths today, I did Transum. I went with my eleven times tables which took me 29 seconds to finish. It took me a long time to learn my eleven time tables because I hate maths but now I kind of like maths. For me, I think maths is hard sometimes and when that happens I begin to hate maths.

How many trophies do I have?

I have 29 trophies altogether. I don't always like Transum because when it comes for me to claim my trophies, the trophies I've earned don't always show up. That is why I don't like Transum when it comes to the trophies.

Is Transum fun?

Yes! Transum is fun for me sometimes. Sometimes it's because I get to challenge my sister. We do times tables when we do school work and we also do it for fun.

Should you try Transum?

Yes! because its fun and you can verse other people in Transum. You can also get better in maths if you are not at it and hate maths.

My week: Nana and Grandpa's Birthday

This week it has been an busy week for me. It was my nana's birthday and that day my cousin and aunty moved in. It was the busiest day! I had to go on different car rides, run to the shops and grab food for the party. 

Tuesday was a normal day. I had school, T.V. time and home learning - lucky I had a very good rest before the next day.

The Next Day ... 

Wednesday was my grandpa's birthday. He really didn't want to do anything but my family and I still celebrated it anyway. There were MORE car rides to make - it was boring for me on some parts of all this travelling.

Thursday and Friday were normal days. More home learning and t.v time, as well as playing with my cousins.

This week was tiring for me and exciting at the same time.

I was excited that we were celebrating my nana and grandpa's birthdays.

The tiring part was having to sit in the car, waiting for mum to come back from the shops.

What is otai? Otai is a Tongan traditional drink. It has watermelon and any other fruit you like. Otai has coconut, milk, sugar, and cold water. You can even put crackers in if you would like!

Breakfast this morning with my class

This morning I had an amazing breakfast. I had 1 beef sausage, 1 pork slice, 1 sirloin steak with eggs and toast and it was delicious! We had a lot of fun this morning and we had 2 guests come in while we were eating and cooking.

 For cybersmart we had a task and it was to find a picture in google drawing and this is my drawing.

This is my copy on the right and the real picture in the left, It took me 2 days and a half to finish this art and it was a struggle for me, I spent time on other school task but not as much time I spent on this.   maybe you can try and make one for yourself.

My weekend

My weekend was fun because on Friday after school, I did some chores. After I did chores I played video games for a while and went to sleep at 1:00am in the morning. On Saturday, I watched TV for a long time. I also had takeaways for lunch. I played games but it took a long time for me to clean up my mess.

On Sunday it was really fun. I went to a few different places because it was my sister's birthday. She turned 11 years old. We had a lot of takeaways, doughnuts from Krispy Kreme and it was the *bomb*. The takeaways we had included KFC, Burger King, McDonalds, chicken and chips and we had a lot of lollies.

First week of being back at home learning by Pita  

This is the first week of being back at “school” and I am excited to start learning again from home. 

I came back online on Tuesday the 19th October. I was shocked when my mum said that school was on Wednesday the 20th. I was happy that I got to play games a bit more - this was until my sister noticed that there was a catch up on Monday and Tuesday. I felt disappointed because I didn’t realise we had school online. I am excited to be back online again because I get to see my teacher and friends.

Now that there is school this week I am happy that I am back at online school and I hope you are too. I really enjoy maths - it is my favourite subject in school. What is your favourite subject? 

I never used to like school because I thought that it would be boring but, guess what? NOOOO! It isn’t boring, it is fun and I also learned new things in class (and online) this year.

My Holiday

On my school holiday I have been enjoying my week and I hope you did too. 

I spent time with my family I watched movies with them and did a lot of different other things with them and it was fun and I was playing video games with friends and cousins.

What I also enjoyed during the school holidays was going to get takeaways and also going out for walks around the block.

On Saturday at 1:00 I when to get school packs from Ruapotaka school and I got to see 3 amazing teachers at ruapotaka school they were Mrs Hamilton, Mrs Tidswell and Mr O'brian they were sending out school packs to students from ruapotaka school.

I am really excited that we are going back to level 3 and everything else can go back to normal I am also happy that takeaways will be able to be open and we can also go visit our families because it has been a long time we had seen our family's face to face.

I would be more happy if we on level 2 because we can go back to school and see our teacher and also people can start going back to work.

This whakatauki basically means If you show Kindness the you shall get kindness in return.

I like this statement because kindness is what you should show everyone, even when they hate you, you should always show kindness to one another. 

In my life, I show this by I show kindness by helping others and using kind words sometimes.

Cybersmart challenge #22

This weeks cybersmart challenge was about Empowerment  the "authority or power given to someone to do something". Its important to follow these instructions because if someone ever leaves a comment that is not positive, helpful and thoughtful comment.What I learnt from this challenge is that you shall not comment back on things that have made you sad,angry , or uncomfortable and the right thing to do is take screen shots and sent it to your teacher in a gmail.

I don't like this lockdown because I can't go and see my family, I have not seen my family in ages and I feel like I have not seen them in years. I also don't like this lockdown because Takeaways are not open and I just have to eat soup or any other food that is in the cupboard. 

However this lockdown is also fun for me I can spend more time with my mum and dad and also my siblings but I also have to do school work so that when I get to collage I can stay motivated when it is learning time.

I wrote this blog post so that I can give you ideas if you are bored at home instead of just sitting on the bed on your phone, I hope that this short blog post gives you an Idea of what to do at home with your mum and dad or whoever is looking after you.

 Today in Cybersmart with Mr Goodwin we were assigned to complete a quality blog comment.Mr Goodwin has been tracking our comments since 2 weeks ago.Ocean cross has won an healthy bar of Kit Kat.

We all learnt how to create our own digital mario 8-bit art,as well as our own part, I created the plunger from fortnite and a diamond sword from minecraft,I really enjoyed how I got extra time to do 2 more after I had done Mario,I think that the minecraft sword looks better because I took my time on it.

Trophy's.

 Today I was working on maths and if you get your maths task correctly you will get a trophy and I got 6 trophies and i'm proud of that.only year 7&8 at ruapotaka school can access and maybe some other schools. These trophies was for getting most maths equations correct.

For me I think that maths is fun and for some people they think that maths is boring.

 

Ki-O-Rahi

On thursday the year 7&8's have Ki-O-Rahi it is fun to play last week it was Blue team verses red team and the blue team won "GG" lots of people slipped because the grass was wet so some people keeps on slipping some parts were fun and some other part was boring,The boring part was that our coach was telling the year 7&8's about Ki-O-Rahi,

If you don't Know what KI-O-Rahi is.

Ki-O-Rahi is a maori game that give's you a lot of joyfulness and also it is fun but one thing that most people can't do is hog the ball or catch the ball properly.

Minecraft construction.

 On minecraft our teacher gave a the whole class a form that said you can pick 2 things you want to do, almost every one in the class choose minecraft for mine craft we had to do a construction about a book called Refugee.I hope you like it.

My School holiday.

 My school holiday is going great I get to play on my bike all day its fun because I am able to do challenges with my siblings.

I also get to spent time with my family like we go out to place we go visit our cousins and other families we even go out for dinner at different takeaway places like Mcdonalds, wendys, fish and chips, and a lot of other places and I'm grateful,

In my holidays not only do I  go to school to do school work there I also spent time doing my homework here at home I blog every day I also do mathletics, Mathletics is a lot fun because I can learn new things from maths.

During the 2 weeks of school I also got to go to matariki lights on the 9th of July and went to the matariki firework on the 10th of July the fireworks were lit it blew up so loud that I could not hear my sister talking and I thought for a second that I am deaf.

Last day of term 2.

 On the last day of the term 2.

It is the last day of term 2 ''YaY'' we can stay of school for 2 whole weeks and I will be doing nothing for 2 weeks but all I have to do is to clean up the house and then I can watch T.V..

My goal for next term is to be a really good boy and be a good role model to little kids, and also to try and get all my report good.

My wins for next term is to be a good student to my teacher like behave, and  also to be a great prefect NXT year, If I become a prefect NXT year I will need to do more work on being able to communicate correctly with others and get better grades so that I can become a prefect or if i'm lucky I might be a head prefect.

At ruapotaka school there are some students who go to a 9:30 class in room 2 and i'm 1 of them so me and another group of students go to the same class the teachers name is Petia ( not sure if I spelt it correctly) so he talks to me and the other group of students who goes to the same class as I do he talks to us about how much do we love our culture and if we are proud at our culture and he gives us prizes when its time for quiz and for those who get answers correctly the get chocolate or lollies,Today since it was the last day for us to see him for this term ( we have him next term two) so we did fun things like playing basketball but before we did play basketball he was telling us about how good we were for example  this price goes to someone who participate and this goes to Alex ( I made it up ) but that what Petia did before we got to play basketball and he also said that whoever wins get 1 large chocolate bar and two mini chocolate bar.

My team scored 9 and the other team scored 6, but we won so my team got the chocolates btu we gave the other team some chocolate because we felt sorry that they were just sitting there watching us eating the chocolate so we gave them some chocolate,.

Every one won chocolate when we where in room 2 and I got 1 large chocolate bar because I was the student of the term like I was behaving, participating, listening, being a good a good leader by telling other s to shuush and show respect so thats why I won the large chocolate.

We thank petia for taking his time to come to our school to teach me and some other students to be more successful and we thank him for that.

At pak'nsave in GI

 I meet my brudda Jason Taumalolo in the middle of the road at pak'nsave doing the haka so I joined him it was fun 

Report Day.

 On thursday the 1st of july, Some parents came to school for our report interview,  My Report was good but there was somethings that I need to change and one of those things is stop swearing, I sometimes swear because some people make me mad and so then I let my anger out by swearing at that person so that is one thing that I need to change.

The rest of my report was very good My teacher was impressed and my mum but my mum was a bit disappointed when my teacher told her that I was using bad language in class and out of class.

I get angry because some people mock my parents which really hurts my feelings because I don't now what my parents did to make other people talk about my family.

I love my parents and I hope you guys do and if you don't then you should start think about what did your parents do when you were young did they take care of you if your not sure then ask your parents if your shy then wait till your older and then ask them but I would prefer asking them now.

If you grew up without your parents then that is a different story because i'v never heard people mock other people's nan or papa or aunt or uncle i'v never heard people talk about them.

Pita: The story was about a bird that is trapped in a cage and also a free bird. 

I also think that this was a story about the man who assaulted Maya Angelo. I think that she wrote the poem caged bird because of that man who attacked her.

Hone: The central idea of this poem highlights the differences of being free and being trapped by the circumstances of one’s situation  

Last question: Based on what we know about Angelou’s life, what are the possible connections between Angelou’s life and her poem “Caged Bird”? 

Pita: Maya Angelou wrote this caged bird because she got assaulted when she was 8 years old and the man who assaulted her was found and sentenced by the judge. 

Malachi:That Maya Angelou is the caged bird and that man that was pita talking about he only got one day of jail for some reason but he got killed or murder after he was released from jail.When he got killed Maya went mute.

If food were free then there would be no need to go to work because we food is free that is the only thing that we need to survive we need food and water we do not any electricity we only need that so that we can turn on the lights in our house so that we could do our washing to get our clothes clean and to also do our dishes so that we can eat on the same plate, bowls, and cups after it is being washed.

If food were free every one would probably think about themselves and be greedy and start getting every food they can find food.

Most awesome moment this week.

 The best moment I had was that I got chosen for soccer tournament and I will be participating in soccer next week wednesday. I hope it will not be raining next week wednesday because I really want to go out and challenge other schools.
