where I'm from (BY PITA)

                                The 5 senses

              Where I’m from (BY PITA)

I grew up in Pilkington road.

Where I’m from it smells like fresh air

Where I’m from tastes like butter chicken from my moms cooking.

Where I’m from sounds like a whole bunch of people driving by and playing their musics.

Where I’m from looks like hard people working on the other side of my house.

Where I’m from feels I feel loved from my family.

Where my parents are from.

My Dad grew up in Tonga and my Mom grew up in NZ

Where I’m from the roosters crow early in the morning.

Where I’m from we hear church bells rings every day for different church programs.

Where I’m from adults are talking and laughing while kids play .

Where I’m from we like to go to the beach.

Thank you.

  1. Hi Pita Trinity here from room 21 Belfast School,
I like how you added the photos at the top of the five senses. I like how you added where your parents are from. Maybe next time you could add a blurb explaining why you did this activity. How long did this take you to make? Have a good day.

  2. Kia Ora Pita,
I like that you have have added in pictures of the 5 senses to help people visualise it. I like the last line of the 2nd poem as I can relate to that.
Where I come from, you can always hear the crashing of the waves when you are outside, but it comes second nature. Do you get to hear the crashing of the waves where you live?
Next time, don't underline the words as when you do that, because you may mistake it for a link.
    Thanks for sharing.

  3. Hi Pita, my name is Tiare I am in room 21 at belfast school.
I am a quarter Tongan and half Cook Island but I was born and raised in NZ.
My parents were also born and raised in NZ.
I really enjoyed reading your blog post about where you are from because you added a lot of detail which I like!
Maybe next time you could add a blurb on why you had to do this activity.
Have you ever been to Tonga? I have never been there but I want to go there for a holiday.
Overall I really enjoyed reading your blog post!
I hope you have a good day! Bye!

  5. xin chào Pita,
I really like this and there are some good reasons why and let me just tell you why. It was some really good descriptive writing and it has some good rhymes. And the way you describe where you live and what's going on around you. And where your parents are from.

  6. Malo Pita!
Wow, what an awesome poem. You really tried to match (or better) my example and I am impressed with your effort. You've got ideas specific to your experiences and upbringing in both Tonga and NZ (i.e. Pilkington Road, Tonga, roosters, music, church bells, people working).
Agree with James, you really tried to capture the senses.
Agree with Zara, avoid underlining so people don't think it's a link.
    Well done, Pita.
